Hello! I'm Peggy, I’ve been taking photos my entire life.
Here’s a little bit about how it all started.
My career started with a focus of extreme sport, I would photograph BMXers, skateboarders and rollerbladers on a touring show. It meant my training was extremely fast paced. I learnt to predict the perfect moment and capture crisp images of subjects whilst mid-trick.
Back in the day.
I also photographed rollerskaters for various skate and fitness brands. I worked with sports-people, not models. So, I learnt to take photos of ‘normal’ people, whilst they were moving, and also make them look and feel like models.
I’ve always admired photographers or videographers who started off with their passions in sports. The worlds best videographer, (in my opinion) who filmed the Spiderman movie, was originally a skater. Half that movie is actually filmed on skates.
In short, once you’ve mastered making people look good while doing sports... You’re as competent as you can get.
I captured my first wedding by accident…
I first fell into wedding photography when I was a student. My weekend job was to take photos of marques for a large supplier. One day this company set up a marque for a wedding. By the time the tent was up, wedding guests were arriving… Somehow I missed the memo and thought I was responsible for capturing the entire wedding.
Turns out the couple hadn’t hired a Photographer and sent a grateful message to the company I worked for. I was then hired as an events photographer for this super fancy company.
10 years later!
Fast forward 10 years (or a little more) and I have photographed hundreds of weddings. I absolutely love them. On a wedding day, everyone is in one big team, all creating moments to last a lifetime. Often, brides and grooms haven't been professionally photographed before, so I get to gift them a level-up in confidence. I think this is my favourite part.
I’ve captured enough weddings to know exactly where to place myself, when to run, when to hide, and how to navigate couple shots, as well as herd large numbers of guests. I have a sixth sense of when a smile, a laugh, or a tear is going to come. I focus on my subject, and, like in sport, I know there’s a mili-second to capture right moment.
I’m also a nerd for editing. No one really see’s that bit. But I’m a bit of a geek for Photoshop…
I love the tradition, I love the depth, I love the joy.
I simply love love!
Enough about me!
I want to find out about your story!
